Cubs

8 to 10½ years. Develop new skills. Soar to great heights.

Being a Cub

When you join Cubs, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. Here’s everything you need to know.

Cubs are our ‘junior’ section at 69th Reading – boys and girls with an age range from 8 to approximately 10½. Our activities can range from science to swimming, chess to cooking, and many more in between. As well as being fun and challenging, these activities can earn the children an armful of badges and awards.

We meet on Monday evenings from 6:30-8pm (term time only), and our regular meeting place is St Andrews Church Hall (address and map here).

Cub leaders

All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Pack week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills. And others help keep the Scout Group running by serving on the Executive Committee. No matter how much time you have to spare, find out about volunteering on your own terms.
